Fort Lauderdale is full of many gems, and its beach side parks definitely fit the bill. Loggerhead Park is small, but it offers perfect access for shore diving. That plus the fact that it is situated away from the noise and buzz that surrounds the larger public beaches to the south means that much marine life finds shelter in these relatively quieter waters. The grade of the beach is fairly gentle, which makes entry and exit easier than some other spots.
This is one of several places in Fort Lauderdale where you can reasonably expect to find Staghorn Coral, one of our most threatened and iconic species of coral.
All attendees should bring their own gear, including tanks and weights. Please arrange to be at the site no later than the start time. We will gear up and be in the water 1/2 hour later. If you have a diver down flag with float and line, please bring it in case we have a large crowd. As with all shore dives, the weather may be a factor. Please stay in touch with the dive leader and let them know your cell phone number for any last-minute updates.
