If you’ve ever looked over the side of a pier and wondered what was going on down there, we’ve got just the event for you! The Deerfield Beach Pier Cleanup happens every year, and as it grows in size and popularity, it is also growing in terms of the amount of good that is being done. Marine conservation is a major aspect of Out Scuba’s mission and vision, and we participate in this event every year. It’s always a good idea to get their early and to plan on paying for parking. Check in starts at 7:30 a.m. (There are some free parking spots available, but they get taken very quickly.) When you register with DX Divers, the hosts of the event, you have an option to purchase a swag bag that includes a debris collection bag and a pair of shears, plus a participant shirt. The cost to get the swag bag is $20, but if you opt to bring your own shears/cutting instrument and collection bags there is no cost for the dive.
This is a double-rsvp event. You need to RSVP with Out Scuba (below) AND with DX Divers on their website.
On the day of the event, DX Divers will have staff near the pier for you to drop off your gear and park your car!
