September 13 @ 5:00 pm 8:00 pm

Out Scuba will turn one year old on September 4, and we’re so excited to celebrate this milestone with you, our members and supporters. Member Jim LaBrie is hosting our quarterly social at his home in Poinsettia Heights on September 13th, and you’ll have access to the pool and the house to stay cool. Please bring your own towel! This event is free, but we would appreciate you bringing a dish to share. Jim will be serving hamburgers and a signature drink (with alcohol and without), so any late summer side dishes will be great. (We normally get around 20 people at our quarterly meetings.) Please let us know what you will be bringing in advance!

Dive Into Coral Restoration: Protecting Florida’s Underwater Treasures

We’re excited to have a brief presentation by JD Reinbott—coral biologist, marine conservationist, and the newest member of Out Scuba—as he explores the incredible world of the Florida Reef Tract, a natural wonder right in our backyard.

JD will dive into:
🔹 The fascinating biology of corals
🔹 Why reef ecosystems matter—for marine life and for us
🔹 Local & global threats facing coral reefs today
🔹 Current restoration efforts making a difference
🔹 How YOU can help protect these vital ecosystems

Stay for a Q&A to get your questions answered and discover ways to get involved!

In addition to getting to hang out with other Out Scuba members, you’ll also get a chance to learn about recent happenings in the club and what’s coming up. Including a special surpise announcement!

Because this at a home, parking is limited. Please carpool. You will be sent the address and parking instructions when you RSVP.
